The Band Boosters are in need of a few folks that would be willing to take on a couple of positions in the Band Booster organization.

1.  The Band Booster web page is all set up but needs a web master that has experience with web page management that will keep it up to date and add things that will communicate to the band family and events that the band teachers need added to the page.

2.  We need a person that will be willing to chair the Texas Hold 'Em events.  This person or people will help line up volunteers, get start up cash from the treasurer, be in charge of paperwork that needs to be filled out with the state and set up dates for the next year.

3.  Volunteer Coordinator.  This person will be the person that lines up volunteers for various events in the band.

4.  Auction Chairperson.  This person or these people will plan the annual band auction.  This person organizes planning meetings, makes sure that committees are in place such as food committee, donation committee, treasurer, clean up committee, volunteer committee, etc.  The auction chair needs to pick a date and sign out the building or find a location for the auction to be held.  The auction chair puts together the auction program, sets up emcees, lines up entertainment.  This is the largest fundraiser for the band and is a fun project to plan.

Help the Band Boosters with fundraising and add money to your own pocket.  Did you know that 1% of the money you spend on Scrip will be designated to your student’s account.  The money can be applied to fees relating to school band activities – solo and ensemble, jazz band competitions, trips, including the Europe trip in four years.  It’s easy, you just purchase Scrip and we will keep track of your purchases and apply it to whatever school sponsored band fee you designate in the future.  Spend often and spend much – you will be surprised how fast your student’s account will grow!  As we have said in the past, if every band parent or guardian would purchase Scrip on a regular basis we could eliminate the need to do other fund raisers.  Here is a way you can help the general fund raising of the band boosters and your wallet directly.  You don’t even have to buy things you wouldn’t ordinarily buy!   Your friends and relatives can help build your account; they just have to place their order through you.  This removes any confusion and keeps administrative time to a minimum.Obviously, this Scrip program is for your student’s benefit during their years at Northview.  Any funds remaining in your account upon your student’s graduation will be transferred to the Northview Band Boosters General Fund for the benefit of all band students.
